Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE / PETS CAN BE INCLUDED ON MY PHOTO SHOOT?
There’s no set limit to the number of people or pets for a photo shoot. The largest group our creative team has photographed was all the Guardian Angles grouped together at Madison Square Garden in NYC. It was a huge group portrait created in the middle of a busy day in midtown Manhattan. In the studio, we have created portraits of 8 cats together and photographed 11 dogs together both which turned out amazing!
Q: DO YOU HELP IN SELECTING THE ARTWORK AND DESIGNING A LAYOUT THAT WILL WORK FOR MY HOME OR OFFICE?
Darren in personally involved in helping you select artwork that compliments each other and enhances your home or office. He compares the images side by side to learn which are your favorites, and shows you each image in color, black&white and sepia tone. It’s a creative process that unfolds naturally and is included in every Creative Package.
Q: DOES YOUR STUDIO GIVE EACH CLIENT A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF PERSONAL ATTENTION THROUGH YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?
We all feel it’s vital to create artwork that has a special meaning to our clients as well as to ourselves. By creating images that we’re proud of, then we know that we’re on the right path. We are very proud to say that Willow Street Pictures has been Voted #1 Best of Philly numerous times. Our Google reviews speak for themselves. And all of this comes from taking time and providing personal attention to each client and enjoying our artistic passion, which runs deep.
Q: DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS FOR CONSULTATIONS?
Yes. Everyday we have people walking in for more information about our services. We have spoken with a lot of people that tells us simply “today is the day” and they have time in their schedule to speak with us. We are happy to chat with them in one of our galleries if we have the time in our schedule to meet. If we are busy that moment we look at our calendar to learn when is the next time they are available to meet so we can give them our full attention.
Q: DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS FOR PHOTO SHOOTS?
If you have a family member in an emergency situation such as a pet that might not make it beyond today, we will do everything possible to clear our schedule so we may have a photo shoot with you and your loved one.
If you do not have a medical emergency then we will follow our normal creative workflow of having a consultation and scheduling your photo shoot on another day so everyone can best prepare for it.
Q: WE HAVE SOME IDEAS OF OUR OWN. CAN WE TRY THEM?
Absolutely. We love clients who come up with ideas, bring props and extra wardrobe. Our creative team typically meets with you at the start of every photo shoot to recap the notes from your consultation. We are eager to learn if any new ideas occurred since the consultation and we want to share our ideas with you to learn which ones are your favorites.
Q: WHO IS WELCOME AT THE PHOTO SHOOT?
You are welcome to bring aunts, uncles, grandparents and anyone else who is important in your life. We have learned that family portraits don’t happen as often as they did decades ago so we feel it’s important to really consider bringing along the people who matter to you. We can create large extended family portraits to intimate couples portraits and everything in between. All of this can take place on photo shoots at Willow Street Pictures.
Q: DO YOU EVER SCHEDULE EVENING APPOINTMENTS FOR A PHOTO SHOOT?
As much as we want to be flexible and accommodate that type of request, experience shows that it produces images where everyone looks tired from a long day of work or a long day at school. After putting in 8 or 10 hours at work or in the classroom you simply don’t look fresh and your energy level is low.
Q: DO YOU OFFER WEEKENDS PHOTO SHOOTS?
Absolutely! This works especially well for larger and extended family portraits.
Q: WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR AND HOW SHOULD WE DRESS?
We help you with these important details at your consultation with our Portrait Consultant. She is great at listening, making suggestions and providing you with a custom designed consultation booklet that’s exclusive to our clients.
Until we learn more, our best suggestion is to bring along wardrobe you feel comfortable wearing and to avoid large patterns or large horizontal stripes in your wardrobe.
Q: WE ARE AVID SPORTS FANS. CAN WE BRING ALONG SPORTS JERSEYS AND GET A FAMILY PORTRAIT WEARING THEM?
We encourage our sports fans to bring everything they have to their photo shoot. This is what makes it personal and allows us to capture the real personality of the family. On one of our photo shoots, we had a wife wearing her Eagles jersey and the husband wearing his Dallas jersey. We came up with the idea of them jumping in the air doing a chest bump together. It was as lot of fun and captured the spirit of their sports rivalry.
Q: CAN WE WEAR FORMAL AND CHANGE TO CASUAL WARDROBE?
Yes. We have families all the time that want to include both styles of wardrobe.
Q: WILL IT BE AN ISSUE IF A FAMILY MEMBER WEARS GLASSES?
In the studio we have control over our lighting. We are trained and experienced with this equipment to minimize glare on eyeglasses. Having said that, there are times when everything is moving around quickly and some glare from the flash does appear on the eyeglasses. In that case, the touch up option can mostly fix it.
If we are outside and a family member is wearing transition lenses, which automatically change to sunglasses and go dark, you might want to talk with them about this issue in advance. Most people have another pair of glasses or sometimes they simply don’t wear them for the photo shoot. Having said that, they might just want to wear them and we should be grateful they showed up for the portrait and not make a fuss over it. However things work out, we just roll with it.
