Donations & Giving Back
Willow Street Pictures finds inspiration in donations and supporting our community. Read more about our community efforts here. With the impact of COVID–19, many nonprofits are in need of help.
We decided to start a “10 Days of Giving” challenge, where we wanted to help raise funds to support inspiring nonprofit organizations in our local area. Each day we selected a new nonprofit to focus on and help.
Day 1: The Wolf Sanctuary of PA
The Wolf Sanctuary of PA has offered refuge to gray wolves and wolf-dogs for nearly 40 years. Over that time, it’s grown from a private rescue into an education center where you can visit and learn more about these amazing animals. The Wolf Sanctuary of PA is devoted to assuring the highest quality of care for their wolves. To help them, you can sponsor a wolf from the sanctuary by clicking the link below!
We adopted Isabelle 🙂

Day 2: The Animal Rescue League of Berks County
Animal shelters are going above and beyond to help our community during this time. They rely heavily on community support. We need to ban together and help them. The Animal Rescue League of Berks County cares for nearly 5,000 animals each year. They help rescue animals find new homes and reunite lost pets with their families. We’ve donated our services to them in the past and each time has been inspiring (like the photo shoot we created for Kitten Season below!)
A donation can be made online here https://www.berksarl.org/donate/ , by phone at 610-373-8830, or by mailing a check payable to the ARL at 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508. You can also check out their wish list my clicking the link below.
Additionally, you can help by joining their team of fosters by taking an animal into your home until it finds a forever home. This is greatly needed, since kitten season is upon us. This is where the shelter takes in hundreds of homeless kittens in a very short amount of time. What better way to beat boredom then by helping an animal in need? To learn more, please contact the ARL at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 610-373-8830 x117 to speak with their foster coordinator.
Day 3: Helping Harvest
This organization’s mission is to help people in need through food donations. Each year, they provide meals for more than 110,000 people and strongly help our community.
We donated using their website and you can too by clicking the link below.
Day 4: Berks Coalition to End Homelessness
This organization started in 1995 as a volunteer group. They now include over 60 agencies all working to end homelessness. We donated to their Cabin Fever fundraiser last month and we are excited to donate to their future events! Click the link below to make a donation.
Day 5: Safe Berks
The mission of Safe Berks is to eliminate domestic and sexual violence and to provide supportive services for survivors. Please consider donating so they can continue to protect our community. Donate using the link below.
Day 6: The Friends of the Reading Police K-9 Unit
This group’s mission is to raise funds to support local K-9s. Their donations have helped dog wash station, the kennels, trauma aid kits, medical expenses, and hire new K-9s.
Back when we were located in the City of Reading the K-9 Unit helped us and members of the community and we are grateful for all they continue to do for the people who call the City of Reading their home. A while back, Willow Street Pictures had the opportunity to shadow members of the K-9 unit. The photo below is just one example of what we captured and shows just how much these brave men, women, and dogs sacrifice everyday to keep the community safe. If you would like to donate to Friends of the Reading K-9 Unit, please see the link below.
Day 7: Opportunity House
Next up is Opportunity House. They are an important local organization that has been helping the homeless population since 1984. They provide emergency shelter, affordable housing, case management services, clothing, and books to Berks County families in need. In addition to that, they run the Second Street Learning Center and the Children’s Alliance Center!
You can make a donation using the link below. We are donating one of our creative packages to their Wine, Women, & Shoes event that has been rescheduled to the fall!
Day 8: Grey Muzzle Manor
Grey Muzzle Manor Sanctuary, Inc is a nonprofit acting as a sanctuary for senior animals. They provide hospice care, adoption services, and community outreach programs to assist senior pets from entering the shelter system. Currently, there are very few rescue groups in the United States that specialize in helping homeless senior dogs. Grey Muzzle helps animal welfare groups nationwide to provide care, comfort, and loving homes for old dogs. For information on how to help, click the link below.
Day 9: Humane Pennsylvania
Humane Pennsylvania represents the region’s largest partnership of animal welfare organizations. Humane Pennsylvania and its partner groups chose to come together to form a humane community now. By working together, Humane Pennsylvania delivers veterinary services to tens of thousands of clients; provides preventative and emergency services which keep thousands of animals safe and sound in their homes; and rescues, houses, and treats thousands of homeless pets. Click the link below to donate.
Day 10: United Disabilities Services
We had a blast photographing a few of their puppies-in-training to become service dogs! United Disability Services is a nonprofit that helps the aging, veterans and people with disabilities live safely and more independently in their own homes. Discover the services, programs and resources available to people throughout Central PA and beyond. Click the link below to make a donation.
Everyone can help!
Above all, everyone can help! Our talented Custom Framer, Tracey, even created adorable hand-crafted protective facial masks for our challenge. For every $10 donated, we will mail you a mask! All donations will benefit your choice of 3 charitable organizations. These groups include the Wolf Sanctuary of PA, Animal Rescue League of Berks County, and Grey Muzzle Manor.
